Heater Allen "Fresh Hop Coastal Lager" 5.2%
We like to call this a Northwest Amber Lager, but it is often categorized as a Vienna style lager. The beer originally started out resembling a "Steam Beer" -style beer, but we've slowly been dropping the fermentation temperature to the point where it's truly a lager beer, and too smooth, to fit that category. The color looks like a Vienna style lager, but the amount and type of hops, and the grain bill are quite different. We use Amarillo and Cascade hops in this beer, and they blend well with the German malts we use. The beer features strong hop character, along with smooth malt, caramel, and toffee flavors and aromas, with a refreshing bite in the finish. This year we freshened up this beer with a fresh hop cascade hop version! Our friends at Crosby hop farm provided us with a delightful botanical brewery dream of aromatic Cascade hops which lingered through the brewery for days. Yum.

Van Steenberge "Rum Barrel Aged Piraat" 10.5%
Brewed in honor of the original seafarers of the 19th century, Piraat Ale seemed destined to be aged in Rum barrels. The Belgian classic and perennial gold medal winner is aged in barrels for the first time since it’s inception. At 10.5% ABV the beer has a large malt profile which produces flavors of country bread and dried fruits. Due to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Piraat has always been regarded as one of smoothest strong golden ales ever brewed. By aging it in rum barrels the beer picks up vanilla accents, which further rounds out the beer without overpowering the spicy quality which has made Piraat famous.
